Database Searches and Faunal Repository

database searchesThe Australian Museum Fauna Database contains over 20 million records and is the largest verifiable database in the Southern Hemisphere. The database details records of specimens (held in the Australian Museum) collected throughout Australasia. Access to this database is both efficient and cost-effective, providing the best taxonomic reference capability in Australia and an excellent starting point for any ecological survey work.

Furthermore, AMBS Consulting has access to other non-specimen based databases such as the "NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service Wildlife Atlas". Records can be supplied to clients in either digital or hard copy format. AMBS Consulting is also able to develop database programs for your company.

The Australian Museum is the States' repository for native faunal collections, which are maintained in perpetuity for further research and conservation work. All fauna collected during projects undertaken by AMBS Consulting will be deposited free of charge and will become a national asset. This ensures that these specimens are available for future reference by the client to support the scientific content of all documents and reports generated by the project. Clients can submit collections generated from work external to AMBS Consulting.
